Capital Projects & Transportation Update
13400 South 5600 West
Water and Storm Drain Project: Construction started Monday on the west side of the intersection of 13400 S 5600 W with a traffic shift from the west side of the road to the east. This will allow one lane in each direction with left turn restrictions. The intent is to have the pipe installed November 17th and back fill and pave November 18th on the west side. Then traffic will shift back to the west side so that the east side can be paved. It is anticipated that the intersection will be clear Thursday, November 24th.
6000 W 13100 S Signal: Scheduled to be operational before the end of November.
River Chase & Mt Ogden Peak Dr: The city will has recently installed a 4-way stop at the intersection of River Chase and Mount Ogden Peak (near the North West front corner of Providence Hall). This will enable a more safe crosswalk crossing Mt. Ogden Peak Drive for those students both before and after school. There have been questions regarding the road striping in this zone – the old striping will be removed shortly. I am told this will take place in the next few days. Until then, please continue to use caution when driving in this area during drop off and pick up times. Regents from Providence Hall have been gracious as we have gone through these growing pains. I am grateful for the relationship Herriman City has with UPD and Providence Hall.
